Charonix is a studio for chatting with AI characters and building stories with them. Here is what it gives you beyond a chat window.
Turn scenes into images with extensions
Select up to five messages, run an extension, and get an image back in the chat. Every result is also saved in your Storage. Extensions read the character, your persona and the story so far, so a "Manga from selection" panel shows the scene you just played, not a generic picture. You can browse the extension catalogue, install the ones you like and build your own; public extensions go through review before anyone else can run them.
Branch any story
Every reply can be regenerated into a new variant, and you can swipe between up to five per turn. Continue a reply that stopped too early, or fork the conversation into a new chat to try a different direction without losing the original. The model only ever sees the branch you are on, so abandoned versions never leak into the story.
Memory you control
Each chat has a memory that is sent with every reply. Write it yourself, or let the model summarise the conversation into short facts (who is who, promises, secrets, where things stand) and edit the draft before saving. On catalogue models, long chats also compact their oldest part into a summary instead of simply forgetting it.
Lorebooks (World Info)
Keep world knowledge in lorebooks: entries that enter the context when their keywords, aliases or /regex/ keys come up, with secondary keys, priority, scan depth and budgets. Attach a book to a character, a single chat, a persona or everything you write. Books are reusable across all of them without copying entries.
Personas
A persona is who you are in the story: name, description and avatar. Keep several and pick one per chat; {{user}} in a card or memory becomes your persona's name.
SillyTavern cards, in and out
Import character cards as JSON (V1, V2, V3), PNG or CHARX, and export them as V2 or V3. An embedded character book becomes a real lorebook attached to the character. Unknown fields and extensions are kept, so a round trip does not lose data.
Your model, your choice
Start on the free default model with a daily allowance. Bring your own provider with a URL and API key (Proxy), or pick a model from Charonix's curated catalogue. Creators can choose whether their characters may be used with personal proxies.
Help with your side of the story
AI Assist can polish your draft ("Improve my message") or write your next turn as your persona ("Write for me"), from an optional hint or the scene itself.
A catalogue of community characters
Browse public characters, filter by tags, search, and skip NSFW cards. Favourite characters, follow their authors and leave comments.
